Ben became interested in tapping maple trees after an epiphany in the woods, surrounded by maple trees. A tentative sugar run in 2013 sparked his interest, culminating in the fabrication of a stove and full on tap in 2017. A  proud member of the Kentucky and West Virginia Maple Associations, he is an enthusiastic ambassador of small-scale maple syrup production.
